Nottingham will always be synonymous with the legend and folklore of Robin Hood and anyone that visits this historic and thriving city cannot fail to be enthralled by all that Nottingham has to offer in this respect.Sherwood Forest nearby is the reputed home of Robin Hood and his merry band of outlaws. The Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre contains exhibitions on the early history of the forest and many of its walks remaining unchanged since medieval times and plays host to the famous Robin Hood festival.

The City of Nottingham is also famous for its art galleries and artists and home to the oldest and best three-day fair in Britain, the Goose Fair. This is held in October in Nottingham's Old Market Square which covers 5.5 acres with something for everyone.

For the adventurous visitor, one of the City's main attractions is the underground Caves of Nottingham, where visitors can view a labyrinth of man made caves dating from Saxon times.
